The goal of The Select Restaurant + Bar is not only to become the best new restaurant in Sandy Springs, but also one of the best restaurants in Atlanta’s metro area. A week after opening in May 2019, the restaurant already had 34 Google Reviews with a perfect 5-star rating, so The Select is on the way to reaching its goal. The Select concept was created by Dave Green and David Lester, the team who founded Vining’s most popular restaurant, Paces & Vine, located in the Vining’s Jubilee center. They chose the name The Select to honor a Le Select brasserie in Paris, France, where artists and literary giants including Hemingway, Fitzgerald and Picasso gathered.
The Select is acclaimed mainly for Chef Jason Hall’s Contemporary Continental Cuisine featuring a French influence and Mediterranean dishes popular in Spain, the French Riviera, and Italy. The dinner-menu features popular favorites like Miso Sea Bass, Steak Frites, Faroe Island Salmon, Kurobuta Pork Chop, and Pan Roasted Select Chicken. Appetizers include fresh Oysters, Alaskan King Crab, Steak Tartare, Grilled Spanish Octopus, Crispy Oyster, Duck Meatballs, Ahi Tuna, and Crab Cake.
Also acclaimed as The Select’s innovative architectural design by Smith Hanes Studio. Open, airy ceilings accented by massive wood beams feature special sound dampening technology. Diners typically dressed in “smart casual” fashion discover the warm and inviting but elegant decor. 175 seats in two dining room areas have tables of all sizes to accommodate couples or large groups. A custom-designed conservatory has intimate booth seating before wonderful 2-story glass windows that can be opened to allow fresh air when the weather permits, appropriate since the view is of “The Green” park across the street in Sandy Springs.
The state-of-the-art kitchen opens through a giant window into the main dining room so diners can watch the action. Chef Rainey is stationed at the kitchen window but in the dining room, receiving each and every dish from his trained chefs, then finishing and inspecting all before allowing any to be served. Next to Sandy Springs Performing Arts Center
The restaurant is located at City Springs, now the heart of Sandy Springs since the City Hall is in the same high-rise above The Select. The restaurant is adjacent to the Sandy Springs Performing Arts Center and therefore ideal for those attending a performance to stop in for dinner before the show, or to enjoy wine and cocktails after the show in The Select’s large and imaginative bar room which is open until midnight daily. Dinner is served every night from 5 to 10 pm. Weekend brunch will begin later in 2019.
The Bar + Wine + Beer + Cocktails
The Select has a large list of carefully chosen wines from around the world, each served by the glass or the bottle. Craft and draft beers and imaginative cocktails are prepared by the skilled bartenders. The Select Bar is a great late-night place to spend with a date or end a night on the town.

Parking at the Restaurant
Parking for diners in City Spring’s giant underground parking deck is always free for 2 hours and free for up to 4 hours when you have The Select’s hostess validate the parking ticket. Park in the deck’s green area and use Door #1’s elevator to reach a street level at the restaurant. The hostess can also validate tickets for the City Springs valet located near the restaurant’s front door so the charge is only $5 instead of the usual $15.
